Aircraft animation...

Hello Chums... :D ...!

..just a little annoyance.... ;) ....

On my aircraft which contain animation, eg: opening/closing doors, engine cowling, baggage compartments, etc...using the Shift+ E key + number keys; 1,2, etc...

On my animated aircraft, the doors, etc, open with the usual message "doors opening".....

....but, in my case, the doors, etc, immediately slam shut again, with no accompanying message; "doors closing".

The doors, etc, do not remain []i]open[/i] until I manually close them!

(Maybe I put too much oil on the hinges?).... ;) ....!

Any ideas Chums, in keeping my doors open until I push them shut?

Typical example: http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... 6&x=25&y=9
FSX Cessna 206H Stationair by Chris Evans.

I don't know if its anything to do with certain "FS 2004" planes modified to work in "FSX"?... ...

Many thanks...('puter details down below).

Paul...in Revolving Door Syndrome!...getting giddy!.... ...!

I suspect it's something you're doing Paul. Press Shift + E then release before quickly pressing the appropriate number key. Tap the keys rather than pressing them. It's always worked for me. Please try it & tell me if that fixed it.

Hello Doug...

I know exactly what you mean....

Its a funny old do, but no matter how I do it, the animated doors immediately slam shut after a slight pause, as soon as they have fully opened and I released the key(s)....with NO "doors closing" message on the screen

It happens with all? my FSX "animated" aircraft.....The models in FS 2004 always worked OK!

Maybe FS 2004 models modified to work in FSX?

Paul..... :D ...!

I don't think so. Give me an example & I'll check it out for you later.

PS. Do the FSX default aircraft work properly?

Just tried some of the default aircraft, Doug; Cessna 172, Extra 300, etc, etc....

They all immediately slam shut after fully opening...I'm in danger of losing my bloody fingers!

This lovely Cessna 206H by Chris Evans, as an add-on example....

If you are parked near a fuel pump, this will happen..

Brett....

..you are magic!.... ....!

As soon as I land, I immediately/mostly taxi to the Fuel Pumps, where I carry out my usual checks, and like you said, that's when the problem occurs!
I just backed away from the Pumps, and low and behold, the doors stop open!
I had never even though of that before!...Excellent tip!
(I have a habit of always parking by the pumps!)

Wonderful...I was running out of finger bandages!!

Many thanks Brett...Cream Doughnut on the way!!

Cream doughnut... yummmmmmy.. :)

When this happened to me, I was ready to pull my hair out, 'cause I was testing a model I was working on and thought Gmax compiling had really messed something up..
