I knew the path to get to the "fsx.cfg" when I had WinXP as my OS but now I've got Win7 64 bit and reloaded FSX and Acceleration. What is the path to get to FSX.cfg now that I got Win7? Thanks.

Hiya,
While I don't have my home computer in front of me, I believe it's this:
Start -> Your Name -> AppData -> Roaming -> Microsoft -> FSX -> FSX.CFG
If anyone reads this and I'm incorrect, please correct me.
I hope this helps ya!

Wouldn't say yours is incorrect...
However I checked and started from the C:\ >
C:\ -> Users -> your name -> app data -> roaming -> Microsoft -> FSX -> FSX.CFG

I just DL'd the ConfigEdit.exe and let IT find the .cfg file for me
Otherwise I wind up having to do a "Search" on C drive for it, and that takes about 1/2 of forever, and I am a lazy sod....

Oops! Right Bass- I forgot about the hidden files thingy!
Bubblehead - do you know how to "Show hidden files?"
Start -> Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View -> Show hidden files, folders, and drives (click the radio button).
Hope this helps!

Grumpy tip of the day. When you find fsx.cfg create a shortcut to it & paste it onto your Desktop.

OMG.. does no-one know how to use Windows desktop search?
Anyhow... 'Show Hidden Files' is normally one of the first things to do when getting a PC. You gotta know whats happening with your software, etc.
Get a copy of 'Everything' from
http://www.voidtools.com/This is THE best desktop search engine out there. Super quick & will let you find your fsx.cfg in a jiffy!
BTW also get 'Teracopy' -- extremely fast copy utility.. useful when copying/moving big files.

There is also a W7 "God Mode" ..1. Copy this folder
NAME to your clipboard: > {ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
2. Make/create a new folder on your desktop. (Directly on the desktop -> Right click -> New -> Folder )
3.
RENAME this folder to the new name. (Right click-> Rename -> Paste)
Whoops, all of a sudden it changes to:
This will help you find those obscure settings very quickly...down the list...and it is safe..

Got it! My problem was I couldn't get to the "appdata" because it was hidden. After I went to the hidden files and clicked it to show, I had no problem getting to the the fsx.cfg. Thanks.
