I have on at least two occasions re-installed FSX, all for the wrong reasons.Some jetliners in the downloads are offered with GPWS, (Ground position warning system), AND CERTAIN ONES of these GPWS's have "issues" with FSX,
causing FSX to crash on exit.
I now test each and every new airplane, directly after installation.
(I fully install the aircraft, say yes to all the permits, and FLY that airplane. Then land it. I then deliberately EXIT FS and check that all is well.)
With a "faulty" aircraft GPWS, FSX "crashes" on exit, and the screen goes white. If you find this unwanted or a nuisance, then you need to remove the newly installed GPWS file.
This can easily be done by backtracking the installation, and find the files to be removed by date.
I then also remove the GPWS permission for this airplane in the fsx.cfg file. This will be the last entry in the "TRUSTED" block.

In all fairness, a certain uploader placed a footnote in his readme, giving a heads-up to be aware when including GPWS.
That put me wise.

This new cockpit includes a GPWS system. I have noticed that the gauges of the GPWS cause a crash to desktop when you try to end the flight, or when you try to quit FSX, or even when you try to choose another aircraft. However, the airplane and the GPWS works well inside FSX, even if you navigate through menus for weather or map or stuff like that, so you won't get any issue during a normal flight. Nevertheless, if this problem is too bothering for you, you can simply remove th GPWS gauges from the "panel folder" of the 747-800, this will solve it.
Start FSX and select aircraft under Boeing. Happy flights!!
The rest of the airplane should be good to go.
