Uninstalled MFS and installed in the compatibility mode
So I followed the steps to run in compatibility mode
Enter the start screen
Press Windows key + C on the keyboard to show the charms bar...if you have a touch screen ...touch the right edge of the
Screen and slide your finger to the center of the screen to show the charms bar
Search for troubleshooting click settings in the right column
Click troubleshooting click run program made previous version of windows
Click next select not listed click next
Click Browse and the Driver file that you downloaded
Click next click troubleshoot program
Check the program worked in earlier version of windows but won't install or run now box
Click next select the last know working operating system for this driver
Click next

Make older program compatible with this windows

Through W8 in trashcan, get W7 or better even Windows XP. Problem solved.

I hope you aware that Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP.
As you can see by my signature I am using Windows 8 64 bit. Granted it took some getting used to but as far as a operating system goes it is great. I have no issues with it. The hardest part is finding out where Windows 8 puts things when you minimize them. and figuring out how to access things.
I am still using the original version of Windows 8 I have not up dated to Windows 8.1

To me, the great joy of Windows XP, was that it seemed to be aimed at folks like us, modifying it, and arranging it to suit ourselves, with great ease.
Looking back now, it appears to be much slower compared with Windows 7, and then Windows 8, but it was ideal as a Windows programming tool!
Windows 8 is not ideal for the; "Windows tinkerer"!

I still have all my previous Windows Version Installation CD's, but of course, there will be no upgrades, etc, available!

I have parts of my Win 8 running in "Classic Mode", but that still leaves me with lots of useless stuff dotted all over the place that I will never use, and is just very annoying!
...all those useless bloody "Apps", etc, littering my desktop screen!

Paul..... :? ....!

Yes you can take Windows 8 off of your system. But be careful how you go about doing this.
By that I mean do not repeat DO NOT format the hard drive when installing W7.
If you only have 1 hard drive and decide to reformat the disk when installing W7 you will loose all of your mother board drivers, and depending upon the age of the mother board W7 may not have all of them. The best thing to do is to leave W8 there it will become a file called Windows-old. then once you have every thing in place you can delete this folder

One word of advice for Win 8 users. Don't rely on automatic updates to update your graphics drivers. Win 8 selects the best driver for your system without taking into account you may be using non supported programs such as FSX. Check with the device web-site for the most suitable, after you have installed FSX.
