Multiple Controls

I have the Saitek rudder pedals and yoke and throttle quadrant for civilian aircraft but I want to use the joystick and rudder pedals for my military aircraft. How do I tell FSX which controller to use without having to go through the settings and change everything?

You don't. FS will recognise the controller for you and applies the settings you have for it. I use a Saitek yoke for planes with a yoke and a Saitek X-52 stick for planes with a stick. Never had any problems.

Thanks for the reply. I just got done playing with a C177. Later Im going to play with a T45. I'll see what happens. What I hate is that every time I load FSX it comes up with a Air Trike or some such thing and puts me at Friday Harbor. I don't know why. So the first thing I have to do is put myself at home, pick my plane and set the weather. Kind of a pain.

Hi Scott,

The trike is fsx's default flight, what you can do is setup as you've said, your fav airport/airbase/NAS etc, your weather and any other situation as you need.

Next, save this flight and during the save process select 'make this default flight'
Next time you load fsx, this flight will be your starting flight, you can replace this flight with another anytime you want.

regards

Not knowing is a pain.

Not learning is a lot worse.

Yeah. What he said.

BTW

DO NOT assume that your Saitek rudder pedals, yoke, and throttle quadrant are setup properly. That would make too much sense.

Saitek's web site will give you some instructions on how to set them up. ESPECIALLY the peddles.
