Hey Everybody,

I after some ideas, my FSX has always been pretty smooth running at around 20FPS with what ever addon I throw at it but recently it gone a bit odd. I open the sim and load up a flight it runs at around 20FPS for about 2mins then drops to 8FPS and never recovers.

I have literally no idea what is causing this...does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks
Ant

It could depend on what you got running in the background.
Try to run Game Booster before you start FSX

One of my favourite Desktop programs, Kurt, which I always run before firing up my FS 2004/FSX.

Clears a lot of unnecessary "background stuff" up.... ...!

....but I'm afraid that my; "Poor Performance", is mostly due to my advanced age now... ...!

Even a super-fast, Intel i7, wont cure that particular problem now... ...!

Paul.... ...!

Nonsense, Paul, pure nonsense. You are like an overclocked Sea Eagle ;)
My wife are beginning to tell me that i'm getting too old, mostly when she has to wait 3-5 minutes, before getting my help!! O0

All you have to do is to put the label from your bottle of Viagra where the CPU can see it and that should do the trick
Just remember if the CPU gets over excited for more than four hours you have to give it rest

4 hours isn't a medical problem, it's a scheduling problem!

No idea who said that, but it really stuck with me for some reason!

Good luck to the Original Poster on his problem, I haven't a clue, as usual....and no idea how to fix his problem either!

Great night and good flights to all!!
