Does anyone have a problem with their a/c jumping when you change views or when you are on your takeoff roll? My 747-8i DELTA/NORTHWEST does and it jumps so hard it damages the gear so that it wont retract on takeoff. Any ideas as to why and how to fix. Thanks.

Replace the air file with one that doesn't jump.

The bouncing is usually caused by an incompatible air file (not aircraft.cfg)

If you replace the air file with another one from a similar aircraft (another 747-8 in this case) it should fix it.

To do this:

1. Backup your original air file (such as renaming it with an 'x' at the end of the name Skyspirit 747-8 Series II.air becomes Skyspirit 747-8 Series IIx.air)

2. Copy the air file from another aircraft you know is OK into the same folder and rename it as the original filename (in this case it would be Skyspirit 747-8 Series II.air
The air file name must correspond with the 'sim=' entry near the top of the aircraft.cfg file

3. Fly (you may have to restart FSX to see the result)

The air file contains MOST (not all) of the characteristics that effect the aircraft behaviour

This could be a scenery problem as well if the airport is not defined correctly.
One thing I have seen is if the airport has been modified someone forgot to remove the original airport file. what happens here is that the AFCAD file will be written first than the default file will be written on top of the AFCAD file and if the two files have different elevations this will create bouncing.
The easiest way to check this is to try different airports to see if the bouncing stays. If not you will need to edit the airport scenery of the problem airport. AFCAD will take care of this for you.
