FSX EH101

Hey everybody, I was just wondering if I could get some help.... I recently downloaded and installed the EH101V2 update for my Acceleration EH101. The problem is, it overwrote all the original EH101 files and I was stupid and forgot to make a backup first... Now I can't see the interior of the aircraft, hear sounds, and worst of all I am unable to perform slingload missions because I get an error message saying the EH101 file can not be found. What I am asking is if anyone is willing to send me a copy of their EH101 folder from the SimObjects>Rotorcraft directory so I might be able to set mine back to default. If there is anyone who thinks they could help in another way please let me know... Thanks!

If you have FSX on disc you should be able to find and extract The EH101 straight from the disc, just pop the disc in and open to read file's you should be able to find it in there somewhere. I used this method to repair a corrupt file recently.

Unfortunately, I do not have my FSX / Acceleration disks with me. I am away from home and won't be home until the end of the year, otherwise I would have definitely given that a shot. Thanks for the idea though.

Hi,

You could for the time being edit the mission files to use the EH101V2 after backing up the original .FLT file,
You'll find this in the Missions folder where your FSX is installed.
For example the Antenna mission:
Find
C:\***Your Path***\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Missions\Military\AntennaPackage

See the Sim0 entry in the .flt file for the mission you want to do.

Double check that your in VC mode as mine has never had a 2D cockpit etc.

Steve,

Your suggestion worked as far as removing the error of the aircraft not showing, however my sound file is still missing the original .cfg text.... here is what my sound.cfg looks like:

[fltsim]
alias=EH101\sound

Thats all... I know there is supposed to be more to that as I have edited other sound.cfg files in the past. Any ideas as to how I can fix this? You guys have been very helpful and I thank you all very much!

Hi Rob,

This is the entry from my sound.cfg

[FLTSIM]
product_code=FSIM

Now this is from my EH101 , I don't have the V2 installed yet, I've looked at other sound.cfg and they are all like this.

I may install the V2 after backing stuff up

regards

Steve.

I gather you are aware that the sound has been aliased to a folder named EH101 and a file named sound
I have never seen a sound aliased this way but I guess there is no problem with this but Do you have a folder named EH101 with a sound file in it.
The folder has to match the name exactly so eh101 will not work
If you do not have this folder or there is no sound file in the folder than that is your problem

I looked all over my FSX main and subfolders and could not find any other EH101 files that I needed or were missing... Guess I'll just alias the sound to a file I know I have that is working until I can get my FSX disks...I've been tinkering with files so much lately I think I'm due for a fresh install anyways. Thank you everybody for your help!
