Jetway

Good night flight wariors,,,each of us has a small problem to deal with....;9 Im no exception...Im flying an A320-200 Virgen Atlantic..great and wanderfull painting..just a few draw backs wich I would like some help please..

1.) how do I get the jetway to move towards the craft at the gate ( I think I read that you have to fix it in aircraft.confg but I cant find the frase or numbre to transfer it to the airbus )....in some planes the jetways do work but I cant find the parameters to transfer them.

2-) how do I get the second altimeter and the kts indicator to work, this seems the rule to all aircraft....no matter wich....they dont work.

As information

3-) Some missions are great but they use aircrafts from fsx 2004 and dont work in fsx,(ex the PIA flight 559...to activate it you need the FS2004 PIA ATR 42-500--apatrbhn.zip found in Flightsim.com and Simviation.com. .... I downloaded the plane ...it works(can fly) but no sound, no gauges, etc and of course no mission ....yes all the rest is in its place, sound, effects, etc.

Same thing happens with triple 7ns cant get gauges or something is missing, so out they go.

Thanks for the help with the activation of the jetways and happy landings..

1. The spot in your aircraft.cfg file in which the jetway settings are is shown below.

This is an aircraft without jetway settings:
[exits]
number_of_exits=2
exit_rate.0=0.4 ;Percent per second
exit_rate.1=0.4 ;Percent per second

This is an aircraft with the settings (A320-200):
[exits]
exit.0=0.2, 38.72, -6.04, 3.44, 0
exit.1=0.02, -29.49, 5.1, -4.84, 1
exit.2=0.2, 29.90, 6.0, 1.0, 2
exit.3=0.2, -29.90, 6.0, 1.0, 2

All of the DEFAULT FSX aircraft already have jetway modifications in place, as well as higher-end freeware (Tom Ruth, FSX-modded Project Opensky/SkySpirit/TDS with VCs, and Project Airbus) and virtually all payware.

2. I'm just as stumped as you are.

3. No FS9 aircraft is fully compatible with FSX, so some features will have problems (such as textures, gauges, and models). It sounds like the PIA ATR-42 you describe has software that was made for FS98 or earlier, which means that it cannot work with FSX (more recent files will work, but not fully).

4. I assume you mean the Project Opensky 777s. Try to download a package from SimV that already has a fully functioning VC. That should solve the problem. Or, if you already know how to pair FSX-native models, you can do it yourself. And if you have problems with the exits, there are files on flightsim.com (?) that have the modifications for you- just copy and paste.

5. Please use spellcheck.

Problem-solving in FSX is complex at first, but as with all things, expertise comes hand-in-hand with experience.

Cheers!

Hey guys, i just wanted to say, i have the same problem with the jetway, at the beginning everything worked fine with the jetway ( Ctrl + J ) and it began to move slowly toward the door of the plane, but now it does nothing, let me ask then the problem may be in the aircraft.***???
Is the aircraft.*** file that rules the jetway or is something else in the FSX ???

Greetings and happy landings!! <<v

It's all in the aircraft.cfg file. Make sure that your cfg file has an [exits] section in the proper format.

Thanks Russell I appreciate your help, perhaps you can help me with this other problem that I have:
Yesterday I downloaded the Thomas Ruth DC 10 collection but I noticed that in the cockpit windshield is not clear but gray and the same happens with Thomas L1011... what do you think??
All the rest of the plane looks spectacular, the cabin, the gauges, views, wings, flaps, landing gear... everything except the windshield :?
I only could installed the SP1 in my machine it will not let me install the SP2
Do you think there is something in the panel.cfg file, for example that can be adjusted??

Cheers!

As jetways -- if they aren't working you need to edit the 'exits' part of your aircraft.cfg

This should do it for the Project Airbus A320-200:

[exits]
number_of_exits = 3
exit.0 = 0.4, 40.50, -6.0, 6.0, 0 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)
exit.1 = 0.4, -23.50, 5.85, 0.0, 1 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)
exit.2 = 0.4, 29.90, 6.0, 1.0, 2 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)

Here is a great resource for many other aircraft

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/48819- ... fix-patch/

As for the grey window - what aircraft exactly is it?

I had the exact same problem with the DC-10 and L-1011. The problem is that you don't have the proper shaders, which also indicates that you don't/can't have SP2 or the acceleration pack. I recommend that you try installing SP2. That should solve the problem.

Thanks Russell, thanks Pete
i will try to install SP2 once again and as for the jetways the problem is solved. Thanks guys

Hi, many thanks Russell and Pete for the information about the jetway. But Im not a computer wizz so here are the parameters of the A320-200 Virgin Atlantic from : Project Airbus:

[Exits]
number_of_exits=4
exit_rate.0=0.19
exit_rate.1=0.02
exit_rate.2=0.19
exit_rate.3=0.17

The information that you gave me, should I just copy and paste ?

As for cargo doors:

[TailHook]
tailhook_length=4
tailhook_position=-15.0, 0.0, -1.0
cable_force_adjust=0.9

Doors Operation
===============
L1 – Select exit (Shift + E)
L2 + cargo doors – Tail hook up/down (not assigned to a key binding by default)
R1 + R2 – Wing fold/unfold (not assigned to a key binding by default)

Another observation, the DC10 and L1011 (mine is Finnair Assembled for FSX by Chris Evans), works great, but do not take them to the gates because there is no pushback ( at least in Vancouver, where I try the planes Id like to have ) I think that the problem again is in the aircraft.config, but then Id like to have full working gauges.

Many thanks again and excuse my writting, Im out of practice.( just in case where is the spell check )

Yes just copy and paste. So the entry in the aircraft.cfg for the Project A320 will be (comment out the original so it's still there but will be ignored by FSX)

[exits]
number_of_exits = 3
exit.0 = 0.4, 40.50, -6.0, 6.0, 0 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)
exit.1 = 0.4, -23.50, 5.85, 0.0, 1 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)
exit.2 = 0.4, 29.90, 6.0, 1.0, 2 //openclose rate percent per second, longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum (feet), type (0=Main 1=Cargo 2=Emergency)

//[Exits]
number_of_exits=4
exit_rate.0=0.19
exit_rate.1=0.02
exit_rate.2=0.19
exit_rate.3=0.17

As for pushback - I just use slew (Y) and slow back pressure on the stick until you are where you want to be
