FSX TDS 737-700 vs. POSKY 737-700

TDS released the FSX base pack for the 737-700, and I honestly can't see any major differences. For those of you who have tried it, what are your thoughts? Are there even any differences between the two? I'm trying to decide if I ought to keep the several-year-old POSKY model or ditch it for the brand-new model.

Like yourself I do not notice any difference. It could be that they just re released it, or that there is some minor difference in either the model file or perhaps they made a change in a texture file. I went ahead and scrapped the old version and went with the new one even though I do not see any difference. I kept the old version just in case I discover something down the line. I have a folder outside of FSX I call bone-yard and put old aircraft there.

I think the Utility is a great addition. It adds a control box to opens doors, stairways and fuel trucks and more. You can find it in Views/Instrument panel

As a follow-up, are POSKY textures compatible with the TDS model?

No is the answer. ;)

But I should imagine that most, if not all, textures from the Posky 737-700's will be available foe the new TDS models. Already many have been made.

If you've downloaded the Base Package, make sure you have all of the Updates installed... you can get them at TDS' Facebook page, or here:

http://ssp.cyber-ninja.jp/

(don't worry about the website name... it's legit.)

Also, be careful when installing Repaints for this airplane; many of the Installation issues are due to minor syntax errors in the Repaint's Aircraft.cfg entry, which has to match EXACTLY, or else funny things start happening (wings don't show up, aircraft won't load, etc.).

Same thing for Panel merges as well... best thing to do is read the TDS 737-700 Manual, which describes Panel Merges and what 'ya gotta do.

Personally, I like the looks of the TDS model better than the POSKY version, but that's just me.

In a way, TDS is the current incarnation of Skyspirit2010/2012, which is sort of like POSKY.
