fsx creen capture mb size

hi
i have lots of fsx screen shots, and each takes up a space of about 3.5-5 mb!
i have managed to decrease one picture in size by resaving it in jpeg using paint.
first-is there any way to do this to all in a quicker way, and not having to edit each and every one of the pictures?
second- is there a good reason they take up that much space ? and why does fsx save them in such a big size anyway?
thanks matanya

Many graphics editors have batch resizing features. I can recommend BD Sizer which was developed for this job. Once it set up it's quick & simple. http://jacksdownloads.com/programm/bd-sizer-3-3-3-beta-1/

I don't think so. The alternative is to use 3rd party screengrab software to take the shots instead of the FSX default V key. There are plenty of different screengrab utilities, all with different features. Some can be set to save the shots in various image formats, sizes & chosen locations.

BMP is a Microsoft image format, uncompressed for best quality. The image size will depend on your screen resolution.
