Video Tutorial: Adding Scenery to FSX in Windows 7

This could go in any number of places, but I think that more people will look in "General Discussion" than elsewhere. I hope y'all will agree.

When I first started out trying to add scenery to FSX, I'd only use the ones that came as an .exe installer.

I simple had no idea why some sceneries would work and others wouldn't.

While looking for a better bridge solution to the standard FSX bridges I came across this site - iBlueYonder.

And this article - Video Tutorial: Adding Scenery to FSX in Windows 7.

Hopefully this will help other newbies too.

Yes that Video helped me out too 2 years ago,,, but sometimes theres still a little bit more to it depending on how the creator / developer has Organized the Download, rather its Scenery or Aircraft.

I often find folder buried inside folder with files buried inside even more folders,,, I sort them and reorganize them into another category I made to keep them organized,, aside in a different area than the original download.

I get rid of anything & everything that's NOT really needed to make the Aircraft or Scenery work - I only want & need the Basics , not all the Diz files, read me files,,, all PDF files go into a separate folder I created else where away from FSX,, for storage.

I Also check the Sound folders just in case theres something stuck or hidden in there , which shouldn't be, and I've often found all kinds of things hidden in Sound folders of Aircraft, from Logo files to even some personel photos of ??? who knows,,,

I Like my Folders and Files Clean and well Organized without any unwanted redundt Trash in them, just like my Real Filing cabinet downstairs that holds all my home owner and insurance papers and vehicle registration paper work.

If a Simmer takes the time to keep their files in the sim Clean and well organized, you'll have a cleaner system, more organized and Less Headaches and less problems !

Clean & Organized is the Key !

Same with Aircraft CFG Files , clean and well Organized !
