After Burner Always On

I have an add-on aircraft listed as F-18F_Warhawk in the FSX Airplane folder but listed as Boeing F/A-18 in the FSX Select box. My problem is that the afterburner is on all the time even with the aircraft standing still ready for take off. I have two other F-18s whereby the afterburner responds with the throttle. Where in the aircraft cfg file is the afterburner listed and what adjustments can I make so that the burner responds with the throttle.

Check this inside the aircraft.cfg

[TurbineEngineData]
fuel_flow_gain = 0.006 //Gain on fuel flow
inlet_area = 4.2895 //Square Feet, engine nacelle inlet area
rated_N2_rpm = 16728 //RPM, second stage compressor rated value
static_thrust = 11000 //Lbs, max rated static thrust at Sea Level
afterburner_available = 6 //Afterburner stages available?
afterburner_throttle_threshold = 0.80 //Percent of throttle range where a/b begins
reverser_available = 0 //Thrust reverser available?
ThrustSpecificFuelConsumption = 0.81 //Thrust specific fuel consumption (Jets)
AfterBurnThrustSpecificFuelConsumption = 1.74 //TSFC with afterburn/reheat engaged

I changed the specs on the TurbineEngineData with what you have listed but no joy. The afterburner still stays on all the time with white smoke trailing from the front root of both wings. I have one other F18 (several textures) with the specs such as what you have listed and it worked well. This aircraft I am having problems with is an F18E as opposed to my other one which is F18C, if makes any difference. If you don't have it in your file, can you load the F-18F_Warhawk and check it out. I'm sure it's still in Simviation files.

Bubblehead. Please try to be more specific. If you can provide a file name or link to where the file can be downloaded someone can check it out for you.

You could try pressing the light switch as Trooper suggested.

As Hagar said.
I got the FSX_FA-18_Combat.zip in and its a charm.

You could try to backup aircraft.cfg on the problem plane, and copy another f18 that's working! (Remember to change the [fltsim.xx] section).
Then >maybe< you can see if its the aircraft.cfg and not the model that causes problems.

Ya'll: I'm trying to be specific as much I can. But I am unable to find a file or a link anywhere and that's why I ask the panel if they have it in their PC and whether it was giving them the same problem. if it helps, when I go to airplane folder the aircraft is listed as F-18F_Warhawks. If I go to the game and select the aircraft from the pictures provided, it is listed as Boeing F/A-18F. One other thing that may be relevant. I have Flight Deck 6 loaded which has two F-18s, an E model (superhornet) and the older C model. I also have another F18 aircraft with two textures, a Blue Angel and another used as an aggressor (with Red Star). All of the models I've listed have afterburner effects which work well. But when I go to each of their aircraft.cfgs, some have TurbineEngineData file written as above and others differently but all work well including sound. That's as specific as I can get. Perhaps I could always just delete the model after all I have all the F18s I need. But like a few of the contributors I have single engine aircraft that have afterburners but don't show and I have one two engined fighter jet whereby only one afterburner works. I'm sure it's in the cfg file somewhere but I'm not an expert on the software.

Is it possible that the problem was due to the fact that the model was originally an FS9 add-on and converted to the FSX use?

I'm sure you just nailed the problem ;)

I know when I'm licked. I'll just delete the model or play it wasting fuel with the burner on all the time. Thanks for all your help gents.
