Adding Scenery Question...

I am really new to the FSX world, and have just downloaded a few freeware plane models. I am looking at adding a scenery package, but have a question about it.

I am looking at this one = http://secure.simmarket.com/sydesigns-a ... mesh.phtml

I want to be able to Fly into and around Aruba. With just buying that package will a be able to do a flight from US Main Land to Aruba, or does it require more than just that add-on?

I did do an Airport search, and it didn't look like it was an airport in the standard FSX Gold package.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome MrJeremy ;)

Thats a good question!
You wont be able to answer that, before you buy it.

Why not search fsx aruba on google and see what comes up. Then try it out O0

Hi,
Adding scenery should not have any effect on the ability to fly from one location to another within FSX. If the added scenery removed an airport then landing at it would not be possible. From checking the link that was provided it appears that just the detail of scenery in the area is enhanced.

All the most, you should be right, jan.

But i've installed/deleted some scenery's that changes run/taxi ways on several airports, and then my inflight is not working.
I am very careful on what i install, payware or not, and if it dont seems right, its going to the garbage!

Hi again,
After I posted I checked and the International airport is present in FSX. I suggest flying in the area prior to purchase of the additional scenery. That way you'll be aware of any problems with your scenery settings and the scenery. This is always a good idea in case of existing problems in an area.
Before starting any flight within FSX all of the default airports are displayed when you want to change the location. You should have seen Aruba when you looked. Check the various filters on the screen that lists airports.

Hi MrJ. The scenery from your link appears to be photo mesh. I don't think it adds any airports.

Aruba Island Airport (TNCA) is indeed on the FSX default scenery listing so you can already do what you want. Type TNCA in the Airport ID box. See my screenshot below.

Welcome, MrJeremy

Yeah. What they said.

By now I'm sure that you've already started up FSX and have been to Aruba.

I just starting to learn about "photo real" and "PHOTOMESH" scenery. I've only bought 2 of them. One is absolutely great at ANY level (Madeira X).

The other (MegaScenery Earth Pennsylvania) looks good if you're flying far above the ground. But no so hot when your near the ground. What you found might be that type.

.

The quality of freeware and payware varies widely, so search for both and you may be supprised.

I don't have FSX Skara Scenery Aruba X, but you might want to check it out. Oh yeah - it's the freeware kind. :D
