differential brakes?

My favorite tail-dragger, the Stinson 108, won't turn with differential braking. Therefore, trying to taxi into position doesn't work. I have to slew to the end of the runway and that's no fun. Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

By default control assignment, the * and - keys on the numpad (unlocked) operate the differential brakes.
The other option is to make the tail wheel steerable. This can be done in the aircraft.cfg file. In the [contact_points] section....
Look for the tail wheel line, usually the first line. The 8th value past the = sign is the 'steer angle'. (You can look in the aircraft.cfg of any default aircraft for text above [contact_points] that explians the section.)
point.0=1, -56.00, 0.0, -2.3, 1200.0, 0, 0.60, 180.0, 0.200, 2.5, 0.695, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0
A value of 0 or 180 indicates it's non-steerable. Change the value to something between 1 and 89. Something between 30 and 45 works well with most small tail draggers.

Works better. I also set brake buttons on the ends of the corresponding yoke tips. Much handier.

One I forgot to mention.........
While applying rudder, press the brake and the sim will apply differential braking.
