Good evening,

I have downloaded a 737 aircraft pack, a Ryan Air texture. I am now trying to have ATC contact me using the correct callsign, namely Ryan. Now I have looked into this before and understand there are processes using the aicraft.cfg files and a downloadable file called editvoicepack.. however, while attempting to download this I realised I needed an internet connection, which on the system I run FSX I don't have internet connection. Is there anything I can do to get FSX to call my aircraft by the correct callsign without using editvoicepack? Does anyone know of a complete run through of the callsigns covered by FSX ATC?

EditVoicePack is only needed if you have to add a callsign that the FSX default 'voicepack' does not recognize.

Here is a link to a list of airline callsigns that are already in the default voicepack. http://www.homepages.mcb.net/bones/Flight_Sim/data/FS_Airline_Codes.htm.

The list is from FS20004 but should be (mostly) accurate for FSX. RYAN callsign is in the list.

This link is to a tutorial explaining how to add the callsign in the aircraft.cfg. Scroll to 'The Blue Section'. http://www.homepages.mcb.net/bones/Flight_Sim/tutorial/FST_CFG.htm.
Note-you must also assign a flight number or atc will not use your callsign. If you assign a flight number in the aircraft.cfg you can change it later in the Details window when selecting the aircraft.

If you do not feel comfortable editing the aircraft cfg file as stated above you can add a flight number as well as a airline when you select the aircraft you can also add the HEAVY setting to any aircraft that should have that designation like A B747 should have HEAVY attached to its flight number so 1289 would become 1289 heavy. <<r
