I have a Douglas DC-4/C-54 that I have tried numerous flight/flap setting and it still wont get off the ground... I have even tried to get above 140 IAS on the runway still will not loft into the air... Any suggestions...

Have you checked your weight? Do you have autopilot enabled? Trim? I haven't flown this aircraft so it's hard to help...

Hi there, try an airport at sea level first, make sure no autopilot on and no autopilot functions selected.

I'll download and install and feedback what happens

file dowwnloaded and installed but can i find it?

Can't find it anywhere in aircraft folder or in aircraft list within fsx nor can i find the dc4 pdf file that was displayed after in stall

In this case I think it is more likely that every one and all of there relatives are downloading this one
It is slower than molasses on the top of Mount Everest

got it eventually but the installer is not intelligent enough to find out where fsx is installed and assumes it's in program files (x86) which in mine and I believe many others is not true, so after it being installed, it needs to be manually moved to the correct aircraft folder. Chaange the install path to
where it should be.
I found it via the dos window as windows 7 search is pointless, sorry microsoft but your *rap

lol didn't want to say too much against them in fear of little men with big sticks knocking on my door and the wife not being in

The DC4 unsticks at around 105 Knts and Just added a few clicks of flaps without reading the manual: load the dc3 or 737 and check you can take off and that all autopilot options are OFF then re-load the dc4 and see if you can then leave the ground.

last thing I do now after many years of simming is read the book of magic ie the manual.

PS my advice is read the manual about the autopilot

I am gonna try everything that has been posted so far... see what happens... Thanks for the help so far!!!...

So far this plane still will not leave the earth... Not sure what else to do... hat to loose a great looking set of wings such as this....

have you tried taking off in the 737?

Hi Konman,
I used the link you provided and downloaded. I could have browsed to my correct installation folder but left it as it was with the intention of moving the files. Installed ok and I relocated the three new files to the proper location. I noted in the aircraft.cfg that the ATC type was listed as MCDONELLDOUGLAS and I changed this to Douglas. I chose the Pan AM version to fly and as I was at a moderate length runway chose one notch of flaps. I paid no particular attention to fuel or weight. I changed no other settings. I have a CH yoke so I centered the pitch trim on it. Applied full power and took off without a problem. It took off realistically for a prop airliner, not like a jet.
There doesn't appear to be a problem with the aircraft and the only suggestion I can think of is to make sure to check the pitch trim.
