Buffalo texture won't work for Manfred Jahn''s C-47

Postby Gringo6 » Fri May 31, 2013 10:12 am

I have downloaded and installed Manfred Jahn and team's C-47 Base pack for FSX and it works just fine. Also I've downloaded and installed the Buffalo texture pack ("texture.Buffalo1.zip") and it doesn't work fine. It looks like an X-ray of the airplane because you can see what is inside but not the skin or paint.

The download doesn't have their email address and I can't ask them, so-o-o does anybody know how to fix the problem ? ?

If so please let me know.

Thanks,

After making the above post I revisited the original C47 Base pack and find that it doesn't work as I had thought, so apparently the problem is with the basepack and not the texture folder.

I'd still like to get it corrected though, so all help is welcome.

This might depend on which version of FSX you're using. It looks like an FSX native model which needs either Acceleration or SP2 installed for it to display properly.

I have the Gold edition. Just downloaded it with Buffalo & interior fix. Took her for a flawless spin around the Denver area.

I have installed service pack SP-1 and now all is normal, and I still can maintain a frame rate of 20 or so, so that isn't too bad. But another problem has surfaced. The elevator trim control has gone wild. Not only in this airplane but in all the airplanes.

In the cockpit view of the Beech Baron for example the trim wheel just sits thre and vibrates back and forth and it is not possible to use the elevator trim. It is totally out of control.

Any suggestions to correct this ? ?

Are you sure you haven't got "Autopilot" engaged on the radios?

If you leave an aircraft with it engaged, and the Sim running, and then load another aircraft, it will also be engaged.

Make sure the Autopilot is switched off after you have fired up the Sim, and then centralise all the trim wheels, etc!

Autopilot takes all the control away from you!... ;) ....!

You're so right, but that wasn't the problem this time. Somehow, the elevator trim got put on an axis and that will do the same thing. Head was up and locked for a few minutes there, but finally responded and got it working.

Thanks !

Its a wonderful feeling when you get the old head working again!... ;) ..!

It often happens to me, but its mostly due to old-age and failing memory!... ...!

..... ....!

Glad you got it working again, Gringo!
