Tim Conrads PC-7 problem

Postby Timinator821 » Fri May 24, 2013 2:54 pm

Hello,

Currently I'm flying the PC-7 by Tim Conrad and it's really great. However when I manually start the aircraft the engine seems to be stuck in full throttle, after 20 seconds or more the engine returns to idle.
I tried a config update I found but no luck. http://simviation.com/1/download-file?file=PC-7_cu-1.zip&fileId=34203

Does anybody have any idea what's wrong.

Thanks.

Nothing is really 'wrong', the normal startup procedure of a turboprop does surge to ~100% throttle for a few seconds once the engine spools up.. You'd normally do this with the p. brakes on and with the prop feathered to avoid over torquing the engine.

What is likely 'wrong' though, is that you have prop pitch mapped to a control, and you're not feathering it. The PC-7 does have an auto-feather (and so has no actual prop pitch control in the cockpit), but in FSX if you have anything assigned to that axis, then tim's model will need to manually be feathered. You can either do this, or unmap the axis and see if that restores the auto-feather behaviour during startup.
