How do you correctly install new missions

Postby HSUred » Sun May 05, 2013 4:25 pm

I've downloaded several missions over the last couple of years but it seems like only a couple of them actually work. Sometimes the files include briefings and maps but when I load the missions those things don't show up; instead they just open with an airplane sitting at a nice airport with no ideas other than just go flying around (which I could have done just as easily in free flight). Some better installation instructions would be helpful; I feel like I'm missing some files going to the correct place where the program would read them.

Is there a readme file contained in the zip file? Usually the readme will advise where to install the mission folder (example: Copy TourBeijing folder your FSX Mission folder: .\Missions\The Good Life.) If there is a reward included in the mission copy the RWD file to the Rewards folder. I fly quite a few missions from Ole on Flight Simulator X Missions: http://www.flightsimulatorxmissions.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=5 Ole always includes a readme file and advises where to copy the mission folder and RWD folder. I flew the Tour of Beijing, China yesterday. Not very difficult mission and was interesting to fly with choice of aircraft.

As far as I can tell I've loaded everything per the readme files. Some I have redone but still no luck. These are all missions I've downloaded from Simviation. The first few were by Gera Godoy Canova because they looked pretty interesting. The readme files seem simple enough so there must be some other issue I'm missing.
