Recover log book / logbook

I have a current logbook.bin file (lets call it Ver2). I also have an older back-up logbook.bin file (lets call that Ver1). When I look at Ver2 in FSX, it display as a completely blank file (no entries).

But, if I load Ver1 as logbook.bin, FSX has no issues with it and it displays all the entries in Ver1. So I know V1 is good, v2 is somehow corrupt.

There are now 2 weird parts to this story:
a) If I open Ver2 in "FSX Log Book editor". <http://simviation.com/1/download?file=logbookedit.zip&fileId=27128> I can see the complete history of all my flight going back years with no problem! I've tried to make a small description edit in Ver2 in FSX Log Book editor and save it again in the hopes that the editor would fix what FSX needed/was missing, but when I restart FSX and look at the updated Ver2 logbook.bin file, FSX still displays a blank file. (FSX runs fine)
b) If I perform a flight, FSX adds the just-completed log to the logbook.bin file (it updates ver2), but I do not see any previous flight history/log.

I recognize that I have a corrupt Ver2 logbook.bin file, and a working version in Ver1. (BTW I've also tried the fsxlog11 recovery utility from Dan van os, thats supposed to analyze and recover logs, but it too reads Ver2 as 0 records when Analyzed).

Therefore 2 questions if I may:
1) Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix my ver2 that showing blank in FSX, but looks absolutely fine (and can be edited and saved) in FSX Log Book editor?
2) Any ideas on how to bulk import the 60-odd flight logs that I know I have stored in logbook.bin Ver2, into the working ver1 logbook.bin file so Ver1 will be synced with Ver2 in terms of the number of flight recorded, and I'll be able to see all my flights again in FSX by using the updated ver1?
