Airport Updates

FSX is 6 years old, so many of the airports' information is out of date. For example, Flagler Palm Coast Airport's ICAO code is KXFL. On the simulator, it has the older code. Also, Erie Int'l/Tom Ridge Field in Erie, PA (KERI) recently had a runway extension from 6,500 ft to 8,420 ft and some of the taxiways are mapped out incorrectly. I'm sure there are many many many more airports that need updated. KERI and KXFL are on the top of my priority list to be updated. Does anyone want to/know how to make updated airports?

ADE (Airport Design Editor) is a great program to get you started. Get it here:

If you know the coordinates of the former airfield you can put it back into existence (at least in your sim). If you're lookin' for some kind of "global airports update" I'm afraid you're out of luck. You'll just have to fix them one at a time

Before you spend to much time, check on freewarescenery.com if one has already done your desired airport.

This one helped a lot! Everyone else's reply was helpful, but this one is the best. I found a new file, and it's very much like the airport in real life. Although going through flightsim.com was much faster for me.

Glad to hear that. I'm actually working on Norfolk NS, since that one no one paid attention to before.

Yes sure, simviation is the best site, but freewarescenery does combine several good sources. So you can't really compare it with simviation. It's something different, therefore I dared to recommend it here

Please forgive me

No no --- I love niche sites. They are a fantastic resource. I was referring to the statement about finding files in flightsim.com.....
Yes - freewarescenery and sites like this should be encouraged as much as we can

Thanks for the link too
