Question ? / FSX Hawker Sea Fury T Mk20 Royal Navy Package

Question ???

I have a Question, about an older "2008" Aircraft I found on here, and tried every which way possible to correct the Propeller Texture, I tried Swapping the Texture, changing the Propeller Texture , using the DXT Bit Map Converter, I even tried messing with the Alpha Channel on it,, but to NO Avail,,,

The Aircraft in Question is - "FSX Hawker Sea Fury T Mk20 Royal Navy Package" / 4th page - 3rd one down, says its for "FSX" ???

Link : http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=SEA+FURY&categoryId=&page=3&filename=

Also, when going to the Virtual Cockpit Screen, evidently in the Panel CFG File, the VC sizes are wrong, and it Crops Off the lower part of your Screen ~ !!!

So, if this is Truly for "FSX" as the title Claims - well, its Not very FSX-ish, cause it don't work in my FSX Gold/ Acceleration, with Service pack 2, with windows 7 !

its not like I don't know what i'm doin, I've only Manually installed over 4,000 Aircraft into my FSX Gold edition over the last 2 years, even fixed some of them,, or made them work, by robbing textures or componets from other aircraft or used the DXT Bitmap converter to fix them, but this ones a No- Go !

I know its an Aircraft from way back in 2008, kinda surprised there isn't an update for it,, tho there is for the 2004 versions I see.

Its not too badd of an Aircraft , really,,, the Virtual Cockpit is really decent, if it wasn't for the wrong Size Dimensions in the Panel CFG File, it'd be ok.

Ohh well I tried to fix it, but I couldn't maybe the Original Creator / Designer might want to or somebody else give er' a try,, ????

More Info Below if ya wanna have a look ! <<q

This aircraft was intended for FS9. The file description says it hasn't been updated for FSX & it probably works well enough in the original RTM version. I'm not sure about the prop disc but the panel can be fixed by deleting this line in Panel.cfg or changing the value to 0

render_3d_window=1

There might be more than one such entries. Make sure you edit them all.

Alright, well I can do that easy enough,,, fix the panel entry.

But for whatever reason, I don't seem to be able to fix that prop, texture, I did get a tad bit better results by taking it from a BMP DXT3 to a DDS file,, Ialso robbed another Propeller texture from another aircraft and tried that,,,

I also tried messing with the Alpha channel on that propeller texture,,, and it was a no go,,

so i'm assuming, maybe the problem may reside within the aircrafts MDL file maybe huh ??

Dunno', I've changed, fixed, worked on several aircraft before, but this ones got me stumped, and its really not to badd a plane once these tiny issues are fixed and actually made to work in FSX, like the Title states in the description.

I'm still goin to work on her,, tho I ended up getting this Cool Nifty Aircraft, and it too, is really nice !!

I suspect that's the case. If so it can't be fixed.

I tried it in the RTM version of FSX (Not updated with SP1 or SP2) on my laptop & it works fine. See this shot.

I think this is the cause of similar reported problems with a lot of "FSX compatible" aircraft posted on various websites before SP1 & SP2 were released.

You're right, the problem is in the model definition indeed. And there is nothing that can be done to correct this problem.
Also, if you take a closer look to the screenshot above, you will notice that the propeeller is appearing behind the aircraft fuselage, which is not good, but less "problematic" than the inverse problem you get with SP2 or Acceleration (prop masking the fuselage, as shown in the initial screenshots).

Jetranger, I apology for the bad advertisement, but if you like the Sea Fury, then I would definitely recommend you to buy the payware model made by Flying Stations. The external model is really nice, the virtual cockpit is quite detailled and interractive, the sounds are great and you even get a payload manager and droppable weapons (the rockets can be fired and they will produce an explosion with smoke colon on the ground).
