FS11 Wishlist- What would you like to see in FS11?

FSX including FSX Steam version.

Simple

With a PS you are looking at a program that uses local maps.. in other words a game does not load up a memory and CPU with the world and then calculate everything going on around you in the way a simulation does. A game is a very small and tiny area rendered and calculated

FSX would run the same on a PS that it does on a tower, probably worse becaue the PS does not have 4 gigs of memory in it and expandable CPU/FSB ability

you cannot compare a local map game to a word simulator.

So that is why a gaming station is so fast! I have wondered the same thing as hookem. I was even going to buy a third video card, a new board to fit them and a new, high-speed intel CPU to run it all. And it would have been all for naught. Reading this thread has saved me a ton of money, time, trouble and heartbreak. Thank you all so much!

Will my system run the default FSX Deluxe Edition? I have it, have had it over a year, but never put it on. I'm a-skeered to do it...
My system: AMD Phenom 9500 cpu, 2 x eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS Superclocked vidcards (640Mb DDR3 each), Zalman "sunflower" 9700 fan, Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo, 4Gb G.Skill PC2-6400 DDR2 800Mhz RAM, 2 x Sony 20X DVD writers, Thermaltake Toughpower 8

Ditch the AMD P and go to an intel Q system and you will be in like flint

you only need 1 video card as SLI will only help with high AA... (above 2xxxx resolution) not a single frame higher

A double yes to the weather.  Also add the cloud patterns as an option in the "eagle eye" view.

(Boy, we're talking CPU power now!)

If Microsoft tried to accomplish even HALF of what is being listed here, the new version of the sim "out of the box" would likely cost about $400 to $500 USD.

I have, and I agree with wanting to see changes to the core engine. I just don't want the MSFS series to turn into a combat flight game

Microsoft likely would not do that at any rate.  *But*, if MS came out with a "Combat Module" add-on, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Likewise, a "Space" module, or a "Watercraft" module, "Land Vehicle" module, ...

Actually, that dosen't sound too bad.  Have a "base" package of the Earth, with the physics, weather, and everything else, but bundle that with the "Flight Sim" with the aircraft and accociated software needs, but also have all the other modules available too, just like the "Acceleration" module.

Each add-on module would include the additional needed software for the specific module.

I guess at this point, given all that has been said, we're almost all going to probably need some serious computer upgrades or replacements.

And with that, it really doesn't matter if there's backwards compatibility with the add-ons, or how it's bundled or not, *IF* they also bundle a decent, *EASY* to understand add-on SDK, with all the tools, not "general tips", and no assuptions that everyone understands the jargon, but specific step by step "how to" for *every* facet of developing the add-ons.

I dont see any combat going on in FSX

I could see them expanding the horizon a bit for low orbit and re-entry but not combat

As an add-on module, I don't see it as an issue.  But I do see it as an idea worth their entertaining considering the number of add-on military aircraft through the run of the entire FS series.  Obviously there is something about the FS series over the CFS series or the vast majority of military add-ons would not even address any of the FS series.

As an add-0n modue, those that are only interested in civil aviation have their world, those with a military/combat slant can have theirs.  I see that as a viable solution, as far as ideas and implementations go.

Before I go of on a wish list, could we fix FSX first. its got still got lots problems. Too numerous to mention. I am sure there are some probs in FSX that could be cured easily. Same as FS9 but M$ at least put out a patch.

If you're about ready to buy a brand new car, why bother fixing the old one?
