it doesnt allow jack s%&@ unfortunately.

i read through the whole thread with vic, he must be on top of the world!

im just gonna have to build a computer. the first thing i have to decide though, with nehalem coming out, the prices for the current technology should drop, and if you say i can get the max out of FSX with the best in the current stuff, then i will go for that. but if i7 and ddr3 are gonna put the current stuff to shreds, then i might as well wait. if the performance gain isnt gonna justify teh premiums, then ill stick to current as well.

let me know what you think. if i do build right now, ill probably want your opinion on parts as well so i can follow your advice on setting up teh rig.

tx  :)

Dont buy just any DDR3

You would be after 3x2GB of DDR3 1600 @ CAS 7-7-7 or 3x2GB of DDR3 1800 @ CAS 8-8-8

Those are the timings and speeds you need for some nice nellie clocking and it isn't going to be cheap.. you can expect the motherboard, proc and memory to run close to 2 grand alone. That will probably drop as Spring approaches. They are releasing the extreme product first on or about Nov 3rd
