first let me say thanks for that.
second I try my luck and download a 777-300 american airlines. all did ok but no plane shows up in the list of planes, but in objects, airplanes it has it listed. sound is ok 737-800 what I'm I missing here? is 777-300 a fs9 jet that will not work in fsx?

I've downloaded the 777 to check it out. This one is configured slightly differently from the C-5M & Posky 747. The 'aircraft container' folder is hidden inside another folder. (The 'aircraft container' folder is the folder directly containing the Model, Panel, Sound & Texture sub-folders.) See this shot.


To install the 777 paste the folder named 777-300AA into your FSX SimObjects\airplanes folder. You will get a message about verifying a gauge. Click Yes. (This will only need doing once.)

Whoever configured this file made a typo in the aliased Sound.cfg which means the aircraft will have no sound.

should read

alias=B737_800\sound

Either edit it in Notepad or replace it with a copy of the Sound.cfg file from the default B747_400 as I explained earlier.

I already have the C-5M. I've given detailed instructions on installing it in two previous replies. I can't explain it any more clearly. I'll repeat it again.

To install the aircraft to FSX paste the C-5M folder I've marked with a red arrow into your FSX\SimObjects\airplanes folder. That's all there is to it.

If you mean the Camera Views from the .cfg, yes, you can copy the camera views from the aircraft.cfg of one aircraft and add them to another. If there are no other camera views there already, just past the camera views in from the one that has them.  If there are already camera views, you have to renumber the views so they are the proper sequence, or delete the existing camera views.

*NOTE* Make a back-up copy of the original aircraft.cfg file before you edit.

I have just looked at the 777-300er amrican airlines folders all of them and I did not see anything that says aircraft. cfg or camera views. but I will keep looking to be on the safe side. if nothing then what I will do is to go to my posky 747-400 klm and use that and use the copy and paste to 777-300aa. but paste it to where? aircraft file?  just thought of something 777-300 must have camera views for me to see the cockpit, outside,runway,air traffic, window titles,axis,top down orientation. all of this is from the drop down box. but it is mising aircraft.

The aircraft.cfg file is in the aircraft 777-300er folder, along with the xxxx.air file and the model, panel, sound and texture folders.  The camera views (if it has any) is in the aircraft.cfg file under the [fltsim] entries. 

1. Make a backup copy of the aircraft.cfg file.
2. open the aircraft.cfg of an aircraft that has camera views. (like the default 747)
3. copy the [cameradefinition.x] from the .cfg.
4. paste that into the 777-300er aircraft.cfg under the last [fltsim] entry and save the change.
