Funny Nick because I was spot on with that ratio :D Tell that son of yours..... THANKS.

;) :D

How is Alaska? I just saw a video of how to survive if lost in the wilderness of Alaska.... he ate a Salmon alive out of a stream. :-o

The legend of Bear Grylls lives on. :-o

TBM and STWO

[Display]
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=80

[TERRAIN]
SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT=36

I thought you came up with a 1.333333 x the frame lock? I dont recall you posting a SWTO ratio to the TBM but I have not been around in a week or so, I may have missed something

With a TBM of 330, I would have to set my SWT to 11.  :o

Yeah I made that up.... It did seem to work... for me and Bjorn... but Nicks tweaks there are better. 31 framelock and little blurries? Wtf?

I think what he explained was it is the LCD frequency making that work. At 31 you are about 1/2 the refresh rate. I dont understand all that electronic goobledy goop but it seems he may have figured out that FSX and LCD somehow like each other with a FL of 1/2 the refresh rate, 100% refresh rate or 'unlimited'

I am seeing a FL of 31 is SUPER DANG SMOOTHE there too!!! Even UNLIMITED seems to work outside of city areas!

In summary what have we got?

I have nHancer working ok in Global......I never worked out how to build a profile just for FSX.

But the discussion of the ratios of FFFTF to TBM,   and Locked Framerate to LCD, vary from post to post.

I am getting great framerates but still not smooth.  Microstutters and judders still.

Could one of you Gurus please make the definitive post.

ie if Framerate is locked at 31,,,,,,then

TBM =
FFTF=
Swapout Rate=
anything else that you think is essential

At the moment my head is spinning with the choices and the differences between you...

And don't tell us it is system-specific

for the record mine is;

e6700
Raid 0, 2xSATA HDD, stripe size not known!
Gigabyte Mobo (can't recall the number but new and topline)
x8800 GTX
Soundblaster Audio card with 64mb on board.

Now if any of you guys are coming to Melbourne, Australia, my system is available for you to tweak - any time.

Then you could go into the Australian tropics, beats the blazes out of freezing Alaska.

TBM =
FFTF=
Swapout Rate=

From NickNs post, TBM and SWTO are based on this chart:

TBM

You wouldn't if you lived in Melbourne.  An Alaskan summer is like a Melbourne winter.

Macca, let's just swap systems instead. ;P

Or just give me that GTX. The E6700 won't be of any use for me.
