I decided to give it a shot this morning, so after work I head down to the Super Walmart at 4am... Walk in and sure enough, they have about a dozen Deluxe and 3 Standard sitting on the shelf in electronics. I take a Deluxe up to the counter, hardly able to contain myself...

It won't scan. Obviously it really has been locked out of the system.  >:(  :( The lady is confused. "I don't get this... I wonder which one of these is the UPC?" I do nothing to bring what the obvious problem is to light, and instead stoke the flames of her confusion... Hoping for a reprieve from this sentence... Hoping some confused supervisor will come over and bless this transaction with their magic touch...

No dice.  :'( Everyone was playing hard ball. When the game is actually released I'll buy it from Target, just because I'm pissed that they were such bastards about it.  ;)

And when the manager told you that it was not available you should have yelled at him/her about how its on the shelf and milked it so much so that you could get a discount.

I just picked my copy up around this afternoon at Best Buy.  I called this Best Buy yesterday and the guy said they had the FSX guide books, but not the game, so I checked at the Best Buy on the other side of town, and they gave me the story about not being able to sell it until the 17th, so I gave up hope, but then after class today, I decided to call the first Best Buy again to see if they had got any copies in, and the guy on the phone goes, "ummmmmmm...................yes."  I nearly soiled myself, so I drove over there quick and the shelves were full of both versions of FSX.  So, I picked up my Deluxe copy, and have been flying all afternoon.

Yeah, Wal-Mart gave me the run around too. I noticed today that they had 3 copies basically hidden on the games shelf. When the cashier tried to scan it, it didn't work. Then I went to Best Buy and bought it with no problem.

I decided to spend a little extra and get the deluxe edition. I've only flown it a little bit though because my computer isn't quite up to it. I know I need more RAM, and probably a new vid card too. Is anyone else getting good results running an Nvidia GeForce 6600GT?

I went back to Wal-mart to get a second copy for a friend and they wouldn't sell it to me either.  Looks like a few of us got away with it then they clamped down the lid.  I tried Best Buy too, but no luck...  :P

Ah-hah! Thanks for the reply. I thought my problem was mostly RAM, and I was planning on getting that first before spending money on a vid card that I will just replace again when DX10 comes out.
