The real-life altitude of the airport is 3,162 ft MSL. If you can get the terrain mesh and airport at that altitude, it should be fixed. I think you can access the Software Development Kits by inserting the FSX disc 1 and viewing the files instead of running the installation.

I looked at this airport in my own FSX Acceleration. No problems. As some others have said, the default scenery is fine. You must have uninstalled or installed something or have a different version of FSX than I have.

There is a problem though; I have the standard edition of FSX and it won't work with that. I don't feel like upgrading to Acceleration or Deluxe, especially because I can't run two flight simulators at the same time on my computer (I will eat up precious disk space), nor do I have the money to afford it.

I don't have the ability to use ADE to fix the problem because it requires SDK from the Deluxe Edition of FSX, which I don't have. And someone told me that the terrain around the airport needs to be raised, from looking at the screenshot I posted earlier. But I think it needs to be flattened. As the matter of fact, someone suggested that I try this: "After uninstalling the file exit out of FSX than find and rename the FSXSCENERY.CFG file rename it to FSXSCENERY.BAK This will cause FSX to rebuild it than see if the error still exists." I think I will try that and let you guys know if it works.

Mind you this is NOT I repeat NOT the FSX.CFG file. I believe this file can be found in the main root folder of FSX but not 100% sure.
If the problem is no longer there than the file you have is bad in some way or the other.

One question, though: If I do this, will it erase my addon scenery files?

Just to update from my previous message, I tried the above suggestion, and I got a message saying that my flight simulator can't start because the scenery cfg. file is missing or damaged. I changed the file back to its original name, but now I am out of options on what to do to fix the scenery problem with this airport. I can't use Airport Design Editor to correct the problem because it requires the SDK provided by Deluxe (which I don't have). I would like to be able to fly to this airport again, so I hope someone can offer some suggestions on what I should do next.

I would never mess with core cfg files unless you 1. Make a backup and 2. Know what you're doing.

Seems like the problem happens when terrain mesh is added - hense it doesn't show with default scenery.

Meanwhile .....
Try this file attached. Can't believe nobody searched the site (including me)! ;)
Hopefully this will cure it

before I take this step, has this attachment been virus-tested? Not that I think you are doing anything wrong, but I just want to make sure that what I am downloading won't harm my computer, and I have always been told that you have to question everything on the internet. So I am taking this extra precautionary measure for my computer's safety/well-being. :geek:

All files from the Simviation download site have been scanned, and are clean.

I tried the file, and the airport is still in a deep, narrower, chasm. The elevation is still way too low.

Does anybody know of any freeware flattening tools? If not, there is this other tool that I have found online (although it's payware) called AeroDrome flattening tool. This is the link to show you what I am talking about: http://www.fly2pilots.com/cms/Ui/Pages/ ... 445878ae48 Can this be used as a standalone tool?

Just out of interest - have you tried playing with the Mesh sliders in Options - Settings - Display - Scenery?
