FS11 Wishlist- What would you like to see in FS11?

FSX including FSX Steam version.

Since there will never be an "FS11" release, what's the point?

I'll try and track down more information, but I don't believe FSX really supports the full use of military aircraft in combat simulation. Which is why I'd like to see that in FS11.

That's what CFS is for :D

Actually that isn't what CFS is for. I fear that you have not been paying attention.
CFS has been abandoned by Microsoft, and commercial developers.
All incarnations of CFS are set in World War II, hence there are no modern jets.

What I'm saying is that it would be nice if Microsoft came up with a modern military simulator, and FS11 could be that. You people who like civilian aircraft could stick with FSX.
I'm sure pigs will fly first, but that's my opinion. And it's what I'd like to see in FS11
And by the way Brett, if "MSFS has a significant place in REAL flight training", then why don't they get rid of all the military aircraft, and concentrate on the aircraft that students are likely to fly in real life?

That's good question. As much as I enjoy flying the F-18, I'd rather that they would have added a good, fly-able Warrior, or Tomahawk, or, C152.

As it is though.. they have a pretty decent ladder of complexity..

What you gotta understand is, that MSFS first and foremost is a game / money-making machine. It's not designed specifically for pilot training. If you weren't able to fly all those military jets and stuff, it would be a lot less appealing to a great deal of the market ;) :)

Ain't that the truth.
Some of these FS flyers have their heads in the clouds and think it's more than a game. Whereas, of course, they look down on Combat Flight Simulation as an arcade game. Ignorance always helps in hardening attitudes.

As already said, failures that can happen at any time or not happen at all. I don't see the point in setting up an engine to fail and then just waiting for it to happen. When it does go, you just think, ok, there goes the engine. I want to be taken by surprize.
Maybe having an option to land somewhere and pay to have it fixed so you can be on your way again would be good too.

More accurate problems with icing would be nice too.

I used to like flying the B-29 in FS2004, but the engines always run perfect and all engines run at the same temp and so on.
I would like each engine to run different and need different adjustments.

Well maybe you should fly the B-29 in CFS3, because the engines do fail there, without any warning, usually after some enemy fighter has pumped them full of bullets.
What you get is random engine failure too - the fighters might hit any of the four engines, or all of them. Flak does a good job in that department too.

Trying to get home and land with a couple of engines damaged and fuel leaking, is quite tricky.
That's what sets the Combat Flight Simulator experience a notch or two above Civilian Flight Simming.

No.. it sets it aside, as in it's different.

Nursing a bullet-riddled bomber safely home, is no more difficult than nursing a Baron home, on one engine , or broken gear, or both or bad weather, or icing, failed vacuum sytems, or or or or or any combination of any, realistic set of problems to deal with. You can make either scenario more than a single user, sitting at a computer can barely survive, or even deal with at all.

This goes back to my earlier comments. If everyone forgot their differences & put their prejudice aside it could all be incorporated into the same Flight Simulator. The basic elements are already there & many features of one can be adapted to suit both, just like real life. All it needed was a little imagination. Too late now as from what I can make out there will be no FS11 & the opportunity has gone.

Like Brett says - the 2 are different. Like comparing sailing and speedboating. Or collecting stamps and collecting bottles. One cannot be above another as they are completely different.

This is the FSX forum and we aren't here to compare the FS series with the CFS series. You used to be able to import of lot of FS stuff (aircraft, scenery, etc) into CFS. Not sure if possible with CFS3 but  but this would be a CFS forum subject.

No, you're missing the point here. I was specifically answering the posting made by keith-uk, where he said: "I don't see the point in setting up an engine to fail and then just waiting for it to happen."
I was pointing out that in CFS3 the engine failures are dependant upon the random actions of the enemy pilots and the flak.
I'm sorry you didn't understand that.
I'll try to be less obscure in future.

Nah.. I'll apologize. I understood your context completely.. it was my response that was a little too concise, and vague.

I'll be long-winded, and comprehensive, next time

I would like to see better rotor craft , IE. control axis for collective.

I would also love to see mid air in flight refueling in multiplayer.

try a twisting joystick. chopper collective is the same control as rudder. and make sure autorudder is off in realism settings
My Specs:Intel Core i5 M430 @ 2.27GHz, 4GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 1GB Dedicated, FSX + Acceleration, Real-World RAA Pilot's Certificate

"Chopper collective" is the pitch of all the blades (collectively).. its default control in MSFS is the throttle lever.. the actual engine throttle for MSFS choppers is left largely uncontrolled (or governed.. depending on if it's a turbine or piston).

The rudder control (be it twisting stick or pedals) controls the tail-rotor, for yaw adjustments.
