When I lived in Hawaii and wanted to fly home to see the in laws or family, I always flew on a 767 either to Houston or Atlanta, and those rides were 8-9 hours long, so yeah, she goes far  :)

When i went to Hawaii from Sydney to Hawaii 10 hours very nice.

the way back all sunny and a group of 16 were talking all the way home :(

Any extra tanks would not be in the passenger cabin obviously but the cargo hold. In the 717 ferry tanks can be installed inside the cabin, however.

Thanks guys for the comments and advise.  When I tried to download and install 767 planes in my fsx with acceleration such as :

http://www.simviation.com/simviation/do ... php?ID=727

or

http://www.simviation.com/simviation/do ... php?ID=728

It doesnt work. After extracting, I copied and pasted in my simobjects/airplanes. Is there a special way to do these? What fs9? Sorry again for the newbie questions.

tcco94@ The main differences between the 767 and the 737 is that no 737 has ever been able to do flights like LHR - JFK. Every 767 since the 767-200ER has been able to cross the Atlantic, and also the 757-200 can cross the Atlantic. I don't know if the 757-300 can do it, but I think so.

737-900 - Standard range with 177 passengers 3815km (2060nm), high gross weight version 5083km (2458nm).

767-300 - Higher gross weight version range with design payload and PW-4050s 7835km (4230nm), with CF6-80C2B2s 7890km (4260nm).
767-300ER - Range with design payload with PW-4060s 10,880km (5875nm), with CF6-80C2B4Fs 10,195km (5505nm).

There's your 767 vs. 737 differences.. and of course, the 767 is bigger and older than (most of?) the 737NGs.

Yeah ive seen some flights up to 6-8 hours or something using a 767

My flights from Honolulu to California were always on a 767 or a C-40 (military 737-700)  The flights usually took about 5 hours.

I have done Heathrow to Newfoundland on a 767ER.  Being business class I stopped sweating about ETOPS after the second Scotch.

Also the winds put us on to the most northerly NATS and I got my one and only view of "Greenlands icy mountains"  that I had sung about in Sunday School sixty years before. It was, as my grandchildren say, like sooo awesome.

Has anyone ever considered that the 737 can be fitted with 9 (yes 9) auxiliary tanks giving it range enough to take it from the west coast of the US to Japan? ANA has a scheduled service using a 737 in all business (or was it first :-/ ) non-stop going from Japan to the US. I believe the 737-700ER has the range of 5510nm.

So if you want to make the plane go farther just make sure that all the fuel tanks add up to 10,707 gallons (or 40,530L)

That's insane ;D

And it is cool to see the old 767 competing with the 777s, the A330s and the A340s on Transatlantic flights.

I even trust the General Electric CF6s of the 767s more than I trust the Trent 895/Trent 892 on some Triple Sevens.

oh no tcco94.  Now Im really confused.   RichardH suggested to "Put winglets on" then Bigtruck commented "From what I understand they reduce drag and increase fuel efficiency..."

So I was wondering how do you put winglets on?   :-[
