How to get Maule?

FSX including FSX Steam version.

FSX's infinite bugs and poor performance does seem to piss people off.

At least FS9 was a "smooth" experience, M$ botched it with FSX.

However, once you experience FSX's graphics, you don't want to go back to FS9, so you just quit simming or play FSX and hope that M$ will release another service pack.

FSX performs fine.. poor performance comes from old or sub-standard hardware

Yeah, my computer runs every game on the market on high settings smoothly with no problems. (2008 games)

However, FSX (2006 game), a poor optimized and extremely buggy game brings my system to its knees.

I'm tired of people blaming the hardware when clearly software developers are seriously slacking off when it comes to performance and overall smoothness.

Not much was accomplished when you can't turn on most of the added features.

M$ actually made a brilliant move with that. And have made known their intentions.

There is some truth there.. but you can't compare FSX to other games. If you turn the sliders up ... FSX is trying to render a REAL world.. accurate ground features (accurate enough for realistic pilotage) and realistic atmosphere (including clouds that you can actually fly into and out of).,..

Remember this isn't a normal game. It is a simulation with a dynamic world. Remember when FS 2004 came out? The performance issues were about the same as FSX right now. FSX will run very well depending on how you set up your machine and FSX it self.  ;)

It's all about finding a balanced setup for what you've got. My 'average' computer can't do max sliders autogen, so I choose to just keep it off. In exchange, I get crystal clear ground textures and nice framerates with everything else turned on, so I'm happy.

I love FSX.

This would make another interesting thread, but if you go to the tweeks section ya might learn something. I belive the question is would it be legel to help Perrier out by sending him the file for the maule panel. Did FSX standard originally come with the maule? And if it did than why dosen't the panel/gauges work when EXcell was installed?

FSX Standard did not have the maul. So unfortunately we should not send the file.

I don't have FSX so cannot comment on performance issues. I believe the Standard edition includes AI Only versions of the Maule & Goose. From past experience of the default AI Only aircraft these would have a basic visual model with no VC, 2D panel or special gauges. They would also have flight dynamics more suited for use as AI traffic. Both will work as flyable Player aircraft after a fashion if you give them a panel (any panel) but if you want the proper flyable versions of these aircraft the only legal way is to purchase FSX Deluxe edition.

I've always thought the developers made a bad mistake by releasing two different versions of FSX which simply adds to the confusion of an already complex piece of software. I hoped the lesson had been learned from similar problems with FS2000 & FS2002. They got it right with FS9 & this was a backward step. IMHO

I cant believe the number of Members who seem to have left the FSX Forum in a huff since its introduction, and then left Simviation altogether!... :o...!

Mind you, there have been some rather unpleasant/argumentative characters on there...!...

I've even been told off for trying to introduce some humour into the Forum to ease the animosity... ::)...!

There is definitely a jinx on the FSX Forum!...;)...!

Paul....G-BPLF.....FS 2004...(Sweetness and Light).... :-*....!

Yep, we don't want this forum to get like POSKY's.

Having two versions of FSX was a screw up on M$'s part.

So any way, He did upgrade to axcell , and it has a mission that requires the maule, so he should have gotten at least a limted use maule for that purpose! Other than that I belive there's a maule you can download from 2004 that may or may not work in FSX, but that's what tweeking is all about.
