Has Anyone Considered...

FSX including FSX Steam version.

This is the only product line I know of that people continuously bitch about, but yet continue to buy. I bet that people that complain about the demo will still buy FS10, use it, complain about it, and want a fix and a new version.

Just my thoughts

Yes, that is true.
However, the MSFS team has said on a few ocasions that they monitor the flight sim sights and want to know what we think, including al the citical comments.

So, in effect, MS encourages us to complain and give them feed back. We would be remiss if we didn't offer construtive criticism

It's worth repeating the phrase....

As a general statement:
Anyone can moan and complain, but to offer a series of observations while providing the accurate basis for them, takes time and thought.

Example:  FS-X demo graphics suck, plain and simple.  On my machine, I get *maybe* 6fps.

Well golly gee, I'm using a two-three year old machine with an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro (64Meg video RAM), on a 1.64GHz Intel chip.  Withthe defaults on, I actually get about 20fps (believe it or not, that's good for me).

Sure there are tweaks I can start doing, but I can recognize that there are issues with my haardware setup, because at moments, I get a flash of incredibly detailed scenery, buildings, etc., but then it reverts to a sort of blurred/washout out low res scenery.

I have to think about either upgrading (i.e. getting a new machine), or surreptitiously "borrowing" my wife's new Dell, now that her business  (she's a Realtor, so if anyone's thinking of moving to Central Florida, pop me a note!) requires her to tote a laptop around.  Yes, consider yourselves one of the many thousands of Beta-testers that Microsoft has suddenly obtained, but when you DO "complain" keep a "tester's mindset" ...

I did say "constructive criticism"

On the other hand, MS does want that aveage user who is not that computer savy to get accepable perfomance.

I think we should allow MS to decide what is important to them vs what is just plain "moaning" :)

Well, I haven't actually had an error message caused by FSX yet so I'm not blaming anyone for anything. ::)

On the odd occasion I do get one I usually know what caused it without bothering MS.

Well, a fat lot of good that does! ACES needs to know what the problem is so they can collate this with all the other reports to determine a fix... What's so difficult to understand about that?  ;D

The key word is "constructive," a concept apparently foreign to far too many people.

Trust me, given a choice, the nice folks at ACES would much rather have the Watson report than personal anecdotes posted on a web forum...  ;D

The release of the crude demo certainly has not won over to many new simmers so far.

On the non flighsim fourms I frequent, the feedback is basically all negitive.

It they want to go mainstream with FS-10, they stil have some major work to do.

It's not that buggy. I have only noticed 1 bug, and that was in the readme.
