Good morning Dave...

Tried several simulated flights with Payware aircraft and kept getting a Microsoft has an Error and must shut down...

Just going to try a FSX Default aircraft and see what that does...

Also tried several screenshots and they only show up in part of the screen even though I am taking them in Full Screen, it will not let me take screenshots in the screen that shows my Icons at the bottom of the monitor. Using the "V" Key.

In settings is the resolution set for the default resolution of your monitor?

Hi Dave...

Just started the saved Flight...

Clicked on Options>Settings

As Recommended in Control Panel...1920 X 1080 X 32
Have tried several others and they make the picture worse...

Filtering is Bi-linear

Anti-aliasing is ON

Global Settings...Custom

Frame Rate at 17

I did not touch "Reset Defaults"

Frame rates a bit low at 17 mines set at 30, I also filter set at Anisotropic, anti aliasing checked and full screen resolution for my monitor. I only take screenshots with the V key in full screen mode not windowed or using snapshot v4 for screen captures for problems Dave. Switching between full screen and windowed Alt/Enter keys.

P3d is payware but the Global AI Ship Traffic P3D FSX V1 by by Henrik Nielsen is freeware and all parts are consolidated into one download for FSX & P3d 411mb.
