WELLL............. that diagnosis is starting to make sense.......not happy about it but at least it makes sense!

That explains why I did have the instruments before:

Even my PA 38 had a nice panel before SP2

Then I ended up with this annoying little problem

It also explains (I assume) why the palm trees (seen here before SP2) around my house turned into square black blocks

so much for FSX SP2 ..... :naughty: (note wrong finger in little mr smilie)

ED........ok......Thank you all for so much work and detail
hmmm, I wonder why the 7AC works though......????

Not sure why the trees are affected. SP2 fixed more bugs than it caused. The only problems I know of are with some 3rd party FS9 files (or files from earlier versions of MSFS) in FSX.

I presume that the 7AC is a later model with different display priorities in the source file. I've noticed the same problems with different versions of an aircraft by the same developer, for example the Alphasim freeware P-47. If I remember correctly, the VC in the razorback version displays correctly in SP2 but the bubble-top does not.

Actually all the palm trees (listed in my scenery texture files as "Aleas Trees") turned to what looks like a palm tree painted on a black box, all the hangar doors (about 30) completely disappeared, the hangars (normally silver) turn black as you taxi past, and dozens of other houses and private hangars turn into white billboards...............but 'on approach' from miles away it still looks ok. But it's the best I got. I read somewhere that it can be fixed by changing all the BMPs to ziggedee zags and by wearing a sombrero upside down and standing in a circle.....or was that to ward off sea bears ??? ....anyhow...

We live in the Phoenix area and almost all the small airports as well as Willie and Sky Harbor have been done already (need Coolidge...with the orange roofed Lionel train type ww2 hangar, and Eloy 'sky dive center though) and coupled with FSXFlight, Foreflight on the Ipad and Ads-B traffic (on the I pad now) it is a very realistic training tool for navigating the Class B, Mode C and Delta airspace.
I was hoping for multiplayer through FSInn and Copilot but they just won't set up for me....at least not yet.
