F-35 problems..

Postby Jetman » Wed Jan 09, 2013 3:52 pm

I just installed the new F-35 freeware and it was OK.  I copied all the gauges and folder to the gauges.  I can see the plane on fsx but when I try to load it, my FSX crashes.. any ideas??

May just want to try to uninstall and try it again step by step. Payware version had an auto-installer, so I cannot really say how this one gets installed.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

where have you downloaded it from? Also, what version of FSX do you have?

do you have acceleration? It's absolutely required for the F-35, not just a recommendation.

I'm having a different problem. When landing with the F-35B (STOVL), my nose gear keeps collapsing. I think I have everything set up- flaps, gear, speedbrakes, the whole shebang. I keep my fuel load to a minimum, and that doesn't help. My ground speed is no more than 10kts. What could I be doing wrong?
Constructive criticism appreciated.

Just goes to prove, some people never read the read-me. ;)

NOTE:
This aircraft requires Flight Simulator X: Acceleration or Flight Simulator X:Gold for full functionality.
May also work (but it is not tested) on Microsoft ESP and Lockheed Martin Prepar3d.

what is your vertical speed? are you talking about short landings, or vertical landings?

I'm landing it in the way that I would land a helicopter, so no more than 300fpm

remind me not to fly with you. you kill most aircraft at that rate. watch the airbus 380 at oskosh where he almost broke the wingbox.

you need to practice and learn the art of flaring. you must be ahead of the aircraft to plan the move.

i tweaked the aircraft config

The nosegear collapsing is a matter of weight, from what I've read...you must be very very low on fuel to get away with it.

There is probably a way to change the aircraft.cfg to fix that, however...what to change, i'm not sure.
