Yes I have a Brain too..LOL

Seriously ,I been thinking about to buy a DDR2 of 1gb , and pull out the 512ram so I would have 1.5Gb of RAM into my system Do you think this would improve my FSX performance ? I need opinion please, before I waste my money for nothing (I only can afford one DDr2)otherwise I would buy two 1gb ram ddr2, having 2gb ,but I can't at this moment :-/ Me needs more Ca ching!!

Thanks

OMG! I forgot ,a store is selling me a used 8500 nvidia (I dont have an sli motherboard slot) But they are selling it too cheap ,I wonder why ,Is it too bad ?

I'm not a computer expert, but whenever I have bought a new pc, I have always been told that I would have to buy memory sticks in match pairs. Maybe someone could correct me on this, but that's what I've been told and have followed in the past. Semper Fi, Dave

The 8500 card... isn't it one of those ultra-cheap models with terrible performance ? If this is the case, I suggest you to forget it. :/ Espcially considering the fact that you do not have the correct slot for it as you said, you would have to change your motherboard as well.... it's not worth it. Save your money for a while and upgrade everything at once !

For your memory, 1Gb is really not enough. I mean, you can fly, but the harddrive is really working hard and slowing the performance. 2 Gb would be fine. I agree with the previous comments posted here, the best thing is to have two identical memory sticks. I think it would not be that much expensive to buy them, and you would certainly see the difference.

ARLOT There is no such thing as a SLI slot. The Slot they are reffering to is on the physical card itself and is a means of connecting two video cards together. You do need two PCI EXPRESS SLOTS AND A SLI ready mother board in order to use SLI function .The 8000 series are not bad cards but the 8500 was the first one they came out with I think. There are better cards out there but they are not cheap. And as for adding more ram ABSOLUTLEY the more the merrier.  8-)

:o
Im quite confuse! :-/

That didn't last long :P

And now for the helpful part:
You can have a PCI video card working without a card in the AGP. AGP & PCI are just two types of bus ports, and they don't need one to make the other work :P ;) I hope this helps :P

Alrot, by the sounds of things, if you have an AGP slot, then you probably don't have a PCI-E slot (no, not PCI, PCI-E).

I'm not so sure, but I think the 8500 only comes in PCI-E, so you wouldn't be able to use it at all.

Concerning the 8500 card again, I have read on another forum that this card is really bad. It was made to be cheap, it has no power and is only meant to offer a basic DX10 compatibility. Basically, it is compared with a 6600 which would be compatible with DX10... Forget that card, save your money !!

Thats right, and the next one up the 8600 has DX10 compatibility but is not as good as the Geforce 7600GT.  Some say it is but only marginally, others-lots, say it isn`t.  I was going to get it but as said they`re just a budget way to offer DX10 compatibility only.  Not that this will do you much good in it.......

ARLOT sorry abut the confusion BUT SLI can only be used by two PCI express slots. And for what it is worth there are mother boards that have both a AGP slot and at least 1 PCI EXPRESS slot but you could not use SLI between the two slots because of the differance between the two slots. AS for the 8600 video card Like I said it was the first card out of the gate with DX10 capability. NVIDIA did make some 8000 series boards that had a AGP slot but from what I read about it it was not that successful as they had to emulate a pci express card which slowed it down. Ther are several good SLI ready mother boards out there it depends upon what kind of CPU you want to use INTEL or AMD. I perfer the SLOT 775 mother boards. check out the link below

Alex, what exactly is your motherboard?

I know it has at least an AGP port, so I still recommend the ASUS N7600 GS Silent.

However, if you do actually have a PCI-e 1.1 slot, then by all means, get something better.  However, judging by your processor, I wouldn't venture into the GeForce 8 series.  Stick with GeForce 7 or lower.  Right now, getting a GeForce 8 would be overkill, and would seriously unbalance your system.

It a cheap one ,its a PC-chips P23G its very complete having its onw video sistem 64ram and its AGP port ,you know my VCard its a FX6200 ,I wouldn't have any complaint the only issue that this card due to the strong pull of the CPU heatsink ,it has twisted a litle bit ,That's the issue of overheating sometimes ,but im planing to fix that by a metal extention that holds against The cpu and not the motherboard..

Yea dont worrie ,I work electronic ,its my job  8-)

What you do with your computer is what you do with your computer.  Who am I to say otherwise? ;)

If your mobo is AGP only, then I still recommend the ASUS N7600 GS Silent.  You could always go for a 7800 by Leadtek, but that's your choice.
