Gear fell off

Postby Russell Irwin » Sat Jan 25, 2014 8:25 pm

After my hard drive crashed, this was my first flight with a Project Opensky 777-300ER. All was going well until my landing gear fell off.

No, really. I couldn't capture any pictures of the gear falling, but they did descend. Now I'm worried that I'll crash when I try to land. Is this just a bug within the model, and do I have to worry about crashing?

I HATE it when it does that!

No clue what the problem is, but that line just seems to fit there so perfectly....

That Gear problem is due, to the Fact, that that particular Landing Gear was Sub-Contracted out to a Chineese company, who cut corners, and fabricated the Landing Gear out of cheap sub standard Plastic !

Why Yo' Gear thingy's broke & fell off !

Theres a Recall on those  :?

Thought you should know , ya no ~

Sincerely, Captain - Have No Gear !

More info required. If you tell us the file name & the page it's posted on someone can check it out for you. A link to the page would be a great help.

As you've just reinstalled FSX did you also install Acceleration or the official SP1 & SP2 updates?

Or the pilot may have had to remove the wheel for some reason. :D

Update: All of my 777-200ERs are doing the same thing. I can't upload any screengrabs now (SimV isn't letting me- file sizes are too large), but it's common to all 777s. I downloaded the files from poskyarchive.com. I did install Acceleration. I will double check that all of the xml files are in place.

I can't see a 777-200ER here. http://poskyarchive.com/category/boeing/b777-200/ Which package are you having problems with?

If the file size of your shots is too big you will have to reduce the size before uploading them. Most graphics editors will do it.

I suspect it's due to you not having FSX Acelleration -- or the SP1 / 2 installed in the standard FSX.

Like Hagar says -- which file is it? If it's from simviation it's unlikely to have a problem.

Hi Russel, go back to poskyarchive.com and download the ER R3 file, the text file says if you don't do it then your gear will be missing.

http://cdn.poskyarchive.com/777-300/Mod ... OSX773ERV2)%20R3.ZIP

With full acknowledgement to the opensky team:
This is the contents of the test file:

*****************************************

Project Opensky 777 FSX TEST model

Update at Revision3 ... only the -300 and -300ER
1.Fixed Rudder animation
2.Fixed Trim animation
3.Fixed Elevator Animation

Update at Revision2
1.Fixed Window and glass Transparency.
2.Fixed the gear (I missed using the 200LR as a base so ... used wrong gear for 777-200,300)
3.Fixed the missing parts on the Right inboardLE Slat
4.Removed small polygon floating on air near the L2 door.

How to use.
1. Install the FS2004's 777V2 Aircraft to FSX
2. Copy model folder to the installed aircraft's folder (Will replace the Model.cfg and copys MDL file)
3. Atleast update
Panel/Posky777 folder's
PkyLeftgearheight.xml
PkyRightgearheight.xml
PkyNosegearheight.xml
IF NOT .. GEARS WILL BE LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!

4.If you want .. update the Posky Utility ... small update now can hide the Belt loader.
Needs a small change at panel.cfg since panel size is
size_mm=235,80

regards

Steve
