Engine Defaults

Does anyone know how I can change the default engine status.
At the moment when a Free flight is started the engines are running .Is there anyway that this can be changed to having the engines in a  shut down status on opening the flight .This then enables me to do the start up as part of my realistic experience.

There are many posts here on this same subject. You can save a flight with all systems shutdown and use it as your default startup flight but I would advise against this because I have read that this has caused problems with some machines.
What might be a better idea is to save a bunch of free flights with your "go to" aircraft in their cold and dark state and use/load them for your daily simming needs. JMO and others might disagree.
