I downloaded some of the ORBX freeware and this is NOT something I would expect from ORBX... even freeware, so I'm guessing somehow I messed up the installation. what to do?

Could you be a little more specific?  It's a little hard to see anything from your screenie.

Looks like there is an elevation problem (raised) at the runway end and crossing taxiway??

Which ORBX download is it?
At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

It's an airport elevation adjustment problem. I see I created an elevation-adjustment.bgl for for CEJ4 so it would fit surrounding CEJ4 scenery elevation.

These freewares are designed to fit the payware scenery area (CEJ4 is in FTX-NRM). In this case the payware's airport elevation is different than the FSX default airport. If you do not have FTX-NRM and due to the way FSX reads an airport's elevation, an elevation-adjustment.bgl is needed to override the default airport elevation.

If you have Scruffyduck's ADE9X airport editor you can create one.

I would like to publicly express my gratitude to Dave3cu for the CEJ4 fix.
