Ant's Tiger Moth

Postby Flying Trucker » Mon Jun 04, 2012 3:45 pm

Good afternoon all... :)

I just downloaded Ant's Tiger Moth and did a quick flight.

What I noticed is:
-No rudder movement
-Tailwheel does not move left or right on the ground

Is there a fix for this?    :)
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Isn't there a mecanism similar to the T-6 ? Like, you need to keep the stick forward or backwards to unlock the tailwheel ?

EDIT: confirmed => stick full forward to unlock the tailwheel.
Also, one of the contact points needs a small correction. Quoted fr omWarwick Carte himself:
point.2= 1, 2.270, 4.300, -6.15, 1875,2, 1.100, 0.000, 0.500, 1.600, 0.423, 3.100, 5.300, 2, 132.1, 150.3

point 2 should have 2 instead of a 1

That surprises me. I've never seen a Tiger Moth with a lockable tailwheel.  You would usually taxi a taildragger with the stick hard back to keep the tail down.

I don't recall having this problem with Ant's Tiger.

Edit: Just checked it out. It works normally for me.

;D ;D ;D ;D

My mistake again...should have said:

-[glow=yellow,2,300]Castoring Tailwheel[/glow]

This download does not show the Rudder moving or the Tailwheel moving.

Have deleted the Ant's download as Stephane's Fix did not work either.

Will try another site for a download... ;)

Good morning all... :)

Ok...here is what I did:

-Downloaded Ant's Tiger Moth from the Ant's site...
used Auto Installer
[glow=yellow,2,300]Rudder still does not move left or right
Tail wheel does not move left or right[/glow]
Uninstalled

-Downloaded Ant's Tiger Moth from the Simviation FSX>Vintage Downloads
-used Auto Installer (that is all I could find)
[glow=yellow,2,300]Rudder still does not move left or right
Tail wheel does not move left or right[/glow]
Will uninstall

Not sure but I am wondering if the computer needs to be restarted after the download?
Nope that did not work either... ;D

The Vintage Wings Tiger Moth is a Canadian-built DH.82C.

Doug. I've had Ant's Tiger Moth since it was first released. Not sure where I downloaded it (probably Simviation) but I've never had a problem with it.

If anyone saw the Battle of Britain thing on BBC2 last nite with Ewan McGregor, they flew the Tiger Moth at Duxford. It was noted that this was an aircraft you flew with a lot of rudder inputs. Might have to give it a try!

Thanks Doug... ;)

Ok Doug, just took a look at your Contact Points.

They are exactly the same as mine.

I am wondering because I do not have Rudders now, just the Logitech Attack3 control unit and I am wondering if that is the problem.

In my post in this section "Stranger Still" all those aircraft I mentioned do not show Rudder Movement.

Yet the Attack3 unit seems to check out OK on the Test.
