The Best Performance!

Postby thomasmendozajr » Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:13 pm

Hi guys I just wanted to make a announcement on FSX Performance. I have been working on trying to get outstanding performance out of FSX for 3 years now, I figure out what type of system is needed for the best performance in FSX With the new system I built for FSX gives me ruffly 40-55FPS with Everything Ultra high, In multiplayer Mode I get ruffly 87-167fps
with everything at Ultra High. So now I know you guys are wondering how much and what are the Specs?,

Well I can tell you in the market world a PC this type is going to cost. But here are the specs of my Build.

Do you still get any stuttering in FSX,?

I have a fairly high spec system with good frame rates but still get stuttering sometimes.

No all my stuttering problems are fixed I get an average of 35-58 FPS during Los Angeles or any large city.

Here is an image of my Fps I also had added the [JOBSCHEDULER]
AffinityMask= 14

to my FSX.cfg for my six core processor

If you do have Stutering problems there is a way to fix that if you have a good enough system. Try to do this.

1. go to your Desktop and right click
2. In the pop up window click on Nvidia Control Panel
3. in the control panel highlight Manage 3D Settings
4. in the Manage 3D settings window click program settings Tab
5. Add the FSX.exe if it is not added
6. At the very bottom of the settings window Turn Vertical Sync to Force ON then apply settings and close the qwindow then start FSX it should fix your problem if you have a goodenough system.

I have an older vista with:
-7 gb RAM
-1 gb videocard

And a cpu( forgotten which) but i only have 15-20 fps with an 1776/1000 screen. But do some of you guys know anything about the alienware x51 computer. Does it produces good fps with a hq screen?

Yeah I'm pretty sure the AlianWare x51 would run FSX just fine It has the ram and CPU for it you should get a good 30 to 40 Frames per second with a system that type Im running a Nvidia GTS 450 but if i remember Correctly The GTX 555 class is much better! anyways it seams to be a great PC for FSX.

Thanks Thomas
I have a AMD Radian HD6970 graphics card, so the settings are a bit different than Nvidia so I will experiment unless any one has more info on settings for Radian,
My average 50 fps and varies from 20 up tp 120 with no blurring even at fast low level. its just the occasional stuttering that is annoying.
I see you have a target framerate of 75 is it not better to have it set on  unlimited ?

No Unlimited FPS is not the best unless you have a supper computer that can handle it. Setting the FPS anywhere from 60 to 80 fps are the best settings for FSX as if you have higher fps such as 120 fps it can cause drag or shuttering Sorry that i did not bring that up at first. My fps can go up to 225fps but it drags alot so the best setting is to set it to 75fps

I'm no FSX expert and my computer isn't up to today's standards, but as I've read various performance threads and tweaks, a question keeps coming to mind: If 24 fps is Bluray territory, what advantage is there to having a higher FPS than that in FSX? Can the human eye even detect the difference between 30 FPS & 70 FPS?

I have this feeling I'm missing something obvious.
