Go to you FSX Sub folder, and go under the folders and you should see a .CFG file that says "airlines". Open it up with notepad and put in your airline!

It allows most of the common ones and military names like Army, Coast Guard, Marine.  But ones like FedEx and Life Guard arn't recognized and wont work.

where in fsx are the default airline call signs......?

Airline callsigns are hard coded into the USEnglishbig.gvp file, often referred to as the 'voicepack' (in ...\\Sound\ATC\). YOU CANNOT MANUALLY EDIT THIS FILE. Go here for a list of the callsigns that are in the default voicepack-http://www.homepages.mcb.net/bones/Flight_Sim/data/FS_Airline_Codes.htm.

To assign a callsign you can:
1) enter the callsign in the aircraft.cfg file line 'atc_airline=' under the appropriate [fltsim.x] section.
2) select it in the Aircraft Details window if you have added it to the airlines.cfg file.
The spelling, including spaces, must be correct. You must also assign flight number.

....can you add to them?

The only purpose of the airlines.cfg file is to make callsigns available from the dropdown list in the Select Aircraft>Aircraft Details window. ATC will NOT speak a callsign added to the airlines.cfg file if it is not already in the default voicepack. In other words, you cannot create a new callsign just by adding it to the airlines.cfg file.

If you need a callsign that is not in the default voicepack you can download EditVoicepack X 4.0 (EVP)-http://www.fsonline.dk/en/index.php?title=EditVoicepack.
The included modifications will add hundreds of callsigns, aircraft models and types, and other designators to the voicepack. If the callsign you want is still not available, you can also create new modifications.
(Although EVP can restore the default voicepack, for safety, make a backup copy of the default voicepack before running EVP.)

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

FedEx works

FedEx works for you BlackAce because you have Add-on Aircraft like the NGX which have a FedEx Paint & add the FedEx Callsign to FSX.
