Configuring Video Cards

Postby rassy7 » Wed May 02, 2012 10:45 am

Hi,

I am getting my new laptop set up. I threw FSX (Acceleration) on there to see if it could run it and it looks like it can. I've been pretty impressed so far, but I don't know as much as I'd like about video cards and would like some advice on how to best configue them to find the smoothest gaming experience possible. Here's my set up:

Model - Alienware M18X
Processor - Intel i7-2760QM 2.40GHz
GPUs - 2 x GeForce GTX 560M SLI
Memory - 16 GB HyperX
OS - Windows 7 (64)

When I open the nVidia control panel, I see where I can set configurations for a specific application and FSX is on the list. It gives me all kinds of options but I have little to no idea what they mean or if there is even a way I can use those options to maximize the cards' capabilities to get the most out of FSX.

Thanks for any suggestions,

~Josh

Be sure to run sli and physx in nv setup (3d max and physx auto).
Set aa and af on program control, then use sim settings at your choise.
Run the sim a few times, and you'll see its getting better and better.
Later on you can mix around, but save the last setting.

Try this also for the fsx.cfg file
