Postby widda » Sat Apr 23, 2011 5:56 pm

Hi there, this is my first post,so i hope this is in the right place!

I have had my computer since late september, and when i first got fsx i tried installing a 737 texture..that went wrong :-[,and the 737 textures wouldn't load.Only now have a tried reinstalling and the 737 works, except now, when i try to fly with my addon aircraft(cs 757,pmdg 747,ect)i get 15-20 fps when i used to hit my target of 35-50 or get high fps on unlimited.I still hit my target of 35 fps for the default aircraft. >:(

I run fsx on high, and medium high settings and have tried teaking them but still have no luck.

My specs:

GTX 460 1Gb
4Gb ram/about two and a half gb left
500 gb memory/with about 300 gb left
Amd phenom x4 955 processor 3.20 ghz
and monitor is a 26" goodmans(uk) tv with a screen res of 1024x768x32  and run on windows 7 64 bit

any other info would be happy to add :)Thanks for your help-Widda

just been through a similar issue.
can you check if your CPU is entering powersave mode. after I'd checked all on mine, this was the issue, remember FSX is as cpu hungry as it is gpu.

let me understand. last september you reinstalled fsx because some serious issues with some 737 files. then you reinstalled fsx and the same problematic files. didn't you consider the possibility that the problem could come from these files. be careful what you install and if something go wrong with a file flush it , no matter what people say, if it cause problems in your computer get rid of it , no second thoughts!

Try setting your framerate target higher - maybe to unlimited. It may give you an extra 10-15 FPS. The default is somewhere around 20, and the sim will try to hit that target but not go any higher. If you change it to unlimited, the sim will try to get as many FPS as it can handle on your system. Go to the Settings button from the main menu, and click Customize. Then you should see on the left side a bar labeled 'Target Frame Rate' Drag it to unlimited. Hope this helps, good luck.  ;) :)
I went outside once. The graphics weren't all that great.

Re-installing FSX probably made a lot of fragmentation. You should defragment your hard drive.
