I have given away old software titles in these pages in the past. I think that's the honorable way to pass the torch. If you sell something and it doesn't work for the buyer, the trust between seller and buyer is destroyed. Some malicious little bugger could sell a title, and scratch it all to dickens before sending it. If it goes for free, there is no real loss for the buyer. Other than that, you could sell or pawn the titles at a pawn shop. You might get 10% of what you paid form the pawn shop. The next day, you'll go in and see it selling for 75% of what you paid.
To anybody going into a pawnshop to buy something: DO NOT pay what the sticker says. Make a reasonable offer. The thing is out there because it's either out of pawn and was not picked up, or for sale straight from when the pawnbroker bought it. He wants to sell it-- he has money tied up in it. Make an offer. You'll probably offer more than he paid for it, and he might give you your price. It's worth a shot. If he doesn't, your money is still in your pocket...
