Windows Setup and optimizing for Windows 7

Postby bunky » Wed Feb 24, 2010 9:01 am

Can somebody who has Windows 7 tell me how you set up a new install via Nick n's list? Decided to upgrade from Vista and I see no mention in the post as to Windows 7 specifically abt the system tweaks. The defrag and all that comes later is pretty self explanatory as is the very start with the loading of FSX,Acc, Etc. Thanks for any help,  Skip

When I set up my Win7 i just used the Vista tweaks referenced by Nick in his quide.  If something was mentioned for XP/Vista or just Vista that I could not find in Win7 then I just skipped it and my Win7 Ult 64b runs great with no problems, crashes, etc.

Tnx Rod for the reply. I thought that might be the case. When I did my Vista 64 upgrade abt a year and a half ago, I followed the list as layed out for XP and Vista and I can remember not finding every category as laid out in the list. So I guessed I was just missing something in the translation or it was not there to adjust and I ended up not able to complete all steps but I still managed to achieve great results. I am hoping Nick does not read this post because he might jump down my throat for not completing all steps, but as a novice in computers I found a couple of steps impossible to do because I could not find the locations according to the directions. But I would never complain if I did not get results. So that is what I will do this time also thanks to your input. Have you found Win 7 64 to be a better platform for FSX ? Or did you like XP or Vista better? Jury is still out here.  Tnx,  Skip
