My black runway problem

This started several days after I had installed REX. All hard runways and tarmac areas in both default and addon airfields had turned black, sometimes striped with rainbow colours. But all grass-only runways and areas were OK. I'm told that REX is not responsible, and it has been suggested that it may be hard drive or video card trouble. I've tried everything I can think of, from chkdsc to system restore, with no luck. If anyone can give me any pointers, I'd be really grateful.

If you have UTX, resetting the configurator may help.  I had an initial water/grass problem and that seemed to do the trick.
