Acceleration question

Postby olderndirt » Fri Jan 15, 2010 4:01 pm

A recent payware required 'Acceleration' so I installed it, first uninstalling SP2.

I've only had to reinstall once. I put both SPs into my original installation.. and then when Acceleration came out, to avoid any problems; I did a complete removal, and fresh install of just FSX and then Acceleration. That's what I'd advise for you.

If I need to install again; I'll just go buy FSX Gold..

Sounds like a plan.

Acceleration has SP 1&2 already in it and upgrades you automatically I thought??

I installed it to my FSX that had already been SP'd and never had a problem.

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Technically, Acceleration and SP2 are the same, performance-wise.
I think that the installation of Acceleration has modified some of your settings, mainly in the game and in the FSX.cfg for example.
I guess you have to start again from scratch all the fine-thuning that you did for SP2 back in time.

It's become an all-day affair what with FSX/Acceleration/FS Genesis/UTXUSA/UTXCanada/REX.

If your query would have been "Which Aspirin tablet works best with FSX?" I could have helped a bit.

Tylenal 3
It seems to improve the framerate issue.
Obviously Canadian - we're not allowed to buy anything that effective over the counter
