Landing Gear Problems !!!!

HI,  I can't seem to extend my landing gear on ANY plane for some unknown reason    !!!  Gear goes up ok after take off but wont come back down again......I've reset my Button/Keys settings a number of times now but still nothing ! [ also nothing when I try from the cockpit] Has anyone else come across this ?? can anyone help ?   Many Thanks...

Two possible problems..

1)  You never turned the alternator/generator on.. and the battery went dead

2)  You're trying to extend the gear at too high an airspeed (or retracted them at too high an airspeed and damaged them)

Many Thanks,  Just figured it out. A friend of mine was here for a while and had changed some of my settings. He had ticked "Aircraft stress causes damage" in the Realism settings, I didn't have this on before so of course I could extend the landing gear anytime !  With this on you are correct, you have to watch your speed !!
